Regular/Adhoc Activities

The Reading Club was also formed in 1995, which is a tailor-made Reading Scheme for La Salle Students. This was to promote the reading interest of students; widen their scope of reading, introduce the “ABC” of library skills and indirectly improve the language ability (in the areas of reading comprehension and verbal presentation).  The reading club has regular meetings every Saturday morning from 8:30am to 11:30am.  We invite renowned speakers to deliver different talks to students each Saturday in order to broaden the vision of students.  At present we have a strong crew of 58 parent tutors and 120 members. One of the major events of the Reading club is the “Reading Hunt” which integrates mass games, orienteering, sharing reading experiences and academic quizzes. Parent Education Seminar. Every year, the PTA organizes 3 to 4 parent education seminars. The seminars cover wide ranges of topics, normally on education, self-development, and parents/students relationship with an aim to provide some insight or guidance for parents and students in respective areas.  Examples of some of the seminars ran were: “Boosting The Students’ Self-esteem, Confidence And Interest In Studies”; “What Parents Should Know About JUPAS”; “Realizing The Vision of 3-3-4”; “Home School Co-operation”; and the like. The Sports Club was also started in 1997 and aims to coordinate different sports activities and to actively support various school sports functions. There are regular football games every Saturday afternoon. Click here for Football Club Operation Guidelines. Click here for photos.

The Home-School Cooperation Team was started in 1997. Apart from teachers, student members help out with PTA events as a task force for activities like photo taking and venue setup. Their services are invaluable and contribute much to the smooth running of PTA events.

E-Class notifications will be sent to all members in September of each year for enrollment of above activities.
